I figured out how to pass that course like I figured out how to jump the hole before being validated. I discussed it with my mother and father, so they promised to help me and they did so by reducing my household chores. Even though it was hard, I came around, remembered my teacher's advice, and finished high school. As soon as I finished high school, my father told me some good news, that he had finished the trial and I would be coming to the United States soon. After that my brothers and I came here. Since there are more opportunists in the United States, I am happy to be here and have many possibilities that I can't have in my country. Going to college to achieve my goal as well as help my family and friends is a big transition in my life. I started working and every now and then I send money to my friends who live in Ethiopia and this gives me satisfaction. If I were in Ethiopia, I wouldn't have to do it, instead I would have to see my family's hand or ask my parents for money. Even though there are educated people in Ethiopia there is a shortage of jobs, so I am happy to be here to help others and myself. I always realize that I am learning from life, even thinking that the hole I saw in my childhood held me responsible for everything that happens in my life. After coming here I started doing everything by myself, like working, cleaning the house, going to school, cooking for my family, which I learned to be responsible thinking about the hole, schoolwork, taking care of my little brother and learn english growing up in a small town in
