My parents were constantly behind my back and stern about the great effects higher education can have on a person's life, and I felt immense pressure to succeed. I signed up for more clubs and extracurriculars to satisfy that pressure. I attended clubs that don't exist now at my high school and sometimes had two meetings at the same time. It has always been a daily routine. I went to school, attended a club meeting, went to tennis, then went to winter drumming, came home and did my homework in the meantime. At home, my parents lectured me about how, even with my perfect A's, I was an irresponsible person that colleges wouldn't even consider. Because of this, I was extremely compliant when it came to school. Always accepting whatever my elders said silently and without hesitation. It wasn't until Mr. Vang and Ms. Ramirez came to me during class and explained that I needed to mitigate my current situation. They told me to abandon all the activities I didn't like and to stick to the ones I liked
