Many young people, especially women, suffer from low self-esteem because they can't live up to the standards of a woman who isn't even real. Social media is taking over today's teenagers. This is the only way they communicate and this is what a large part of their life consists of. Social media is the cause of low self-esteem and low self-confidence due to the high standards it sets for today's youth. The common theme throughout the images is low self-esteem, and each photo helps illustrate how social media defines beauty. The image with social media icons represents the current world, how we communicate and how we keep up with what is going on. Instagram, for example, is a social network that is spreading like wildfire because it allows "Instagrammers" to judge and comment on each other, giving them a distorted look at what beauty is.
