L'Aquila, the film was filmed in Scotland and Hungary. The film's setting was shown to be in Rome and the outskirts of Britain. However, the last recorded headquarters of the Ninth Legion was in York. The Ninth Legion went into battle in Britain, however that was not the last seen of the Ninth Legion. Additionally, although the film showed some of the ancient Roman clothing well, some of the clothing was not historically accurate. For example, in the movie Flavious wore armor with an abdominal belly plastered on the outside. Also, the armor and clothes in the film were brown in color. Roman clothing in this time period actually wore armor with solid breastplates and the traditional colors of their equipment were red and gray.
