Much has been accomplished since these days of civil rights activism, with each racial class creating its own groups and reform strategies. We have emerged from this period of civil disputes, but we still have much to do in our society along the lines of racial and gender equality and the fight to reduce the enormous gap between rich and poor. The progress we make today is all due to all racial minority groups in California speaking out about civil rights during these turbulent times.
