Older people are always a very different, but interesting kind of people. Of course, they have been around longer than any of us here today and so have experienced many things in their long journey in this world. Since they have been around much longer, there is much more wisdom installed in these people. They have seen more people with more experience and know much more about life than those of us who are young and inexperienced. As a young person it can sometimes be very difficult to stay interested in what someone who is older has to say at a young age, it's easier to ignore them until their stupid story is over. Yet, if a young man listened to what the elder had to say, he would no doubt be taught something or have various pieces of advice included. For example, my grandfather at the age of 75 has been in the world for many years and decades. He has seen so many different changes in the world as a whole, more specifically in the United States and finally in the small state of Wyoming. As I walk into his house on a nice quiet street I notice many different things. You immediately notice that nothing is modern, everything seems to have been left behind in the fifties or something, apart from the plaintive kitchen floor and the brand new appliances that my grandmother absolutely had to have. The sofa has strange patterns and the carpet is an ugly gray color. The aroma of the room fills my nostrils and it doesn't smell like the old ones yet! Which I am so very grateful for! Entering the basement where my grandfather spends most of his time, the pattern of the sofa is still the same along with the carpet, yet I notice something here, it has so many things in this small living space and it absolutely drives me and my mother.. ... middle of paper ...... all the things I have been lucky enough to have in my life. To become more grateful for even the simple things I can enjoy every day like a roof over my head, three meals a day and a caring family who always encourages me a lot. I finally learned to be a stronger person like my grandfather and not to always complain. Now it's easy for me to get bored and annoyed with what I have to do in everyday life trying to keep up with school, college and everything else. I complain about going to school and work when it's actually hard to see, but these two things are a blessing to me. School gives me an education to get a good job at some point in my life and the work I do during the summer gives me the extra money needed for gas, extra food and so on. While it may be difficult to see these things as positives, my goal is to complain less and become a stronger person.
