In this report, I will discuss the risks, outcomes and management of a real project and the decisions and actions of project managers and stakeholders. Background to Coca Cola's migration decision Coca Cola seeks to move its more than 8,000 employees from the Lotus Notes platform to the Business Productivity Online Suite platform hosted by Microsoft, as revealed at Microsoft's Tech.Ed conference on the Gold Coast. The migration of the new platform will see employees receive email accounts with a storage capacity of 5 GB, which represents a substantial upgrade from the previous capacity of 300 MB, as well as the consideration of the 69 Lotus Notes servers and the 700 Blackberry devices that currently exist in addition to the new acquisitions that the company anticipates. It should be noted that the company has undergone numerous computing platform migrations, for example the previous migration from the Exchange platform. Coca Cola Migration Benefits Technology Services has completed the migration process for approximately 4,200 employees, which is approximately 600 GB of storage and over 4 million in email messaging and calendar-based entries based on the current status of the project . The migration will also involve moving employee email history from the Lotus Notes platform to storage on cloud-based technologies, which presents a dynamic change in the company's entire business.
