Bradley PowellMr. BrownBritish LiteratureMay 6, 2014Apple Vs. SamsungWhen it comes to smartphones, two main companies come to mind: Apple and Samsung. Apple produces the phone called iPhone. Samsung is the manufacturer of the Galaxy line of phones. There is a lot of dependency on smartphones these days, from driving directions to places, to restaurant ratings, from checking personal emails to making phone calls, they do it all! There are many brands of smartphones and the top two are Apple and Samsung. Both companies have features that drive customers to buy their products and also have some features that turn customers away. More than fifty percent of people in the world own a smartphone. Smartphones have defiantly made our lifestyle easier and most of them all have the same features, so whichever phone you choose, it all comes down to personal preferences depending on a number of options that differ from each device. Many people today worry about appearance and what the next fad will be; this defiantly plays a role, among other things, that makes people want to buy an iPhone or a Galaxy smartphone. Screen size and quality play an important role when it comes to deciding which phone a potential consumer will purchase. Apple currently offers three phones: iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S; they all have the standard screen size of a 4-inch LCD display. Samsung currently has two phones on the market, the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S3 screen is 4.8 inches and the Galaxy S4 screen is 5 inches. Galaxy screens are noticeably larger. While some people find a larger screen to be beneficial, others find an extraordinarily large screen to be a hassle, especially when... half of the paper... there's more control than simply being able to change the wallpaper. It also allows the addition of widgets, although this can sometimes make the user interface seem cluttered where the iPhone 5S seems much simpler. The additional space, Full HD resolution of the 5-inch display paired with expandable memory make the Samsung Galaxy S4 ideal for those who enjoy watching movies on the go, as well as those who have adapted to using both hands while texting . It also makes mobile gaming easier, as less screen space is taken up by thumbs on the screen. Those looking to play more casual games may be better suited to the iPhone, though the 64-bit chip makes graphics-intensive games load slightly faster. Apple's iPhone 5S also has the added benefit of connecting to iCloud, making it easy to sync between multiple iDevices.Works CitedWorks Cited
