If there were laws against bullying, innocent lives would not be at risk. First of all, if these laws were passed, there wouldn't be so many parents crying for their children. Secondly, it can spread to different cliques and even different schools. Sometimes it can spread on social networks. Furthermore, there would be no brutal clashes and school shootings. Finally, there is a lower chance of children getting sick and losing self-confidence. Instead of asking for help, the boys decide it is "easier" to take their own lives. “We are heartbroken by the stories of young people who endured harassment and teasing day after day at school, and who ultimately took their own lives (Bill).” Every day, due to bullying, an innocent little boy takes his own life. It's hard to think about how many suicides occur every year due to bullying. "They have a higher incidence of social dysfunction, anxiety and insomnia. They also contemplate suicide more often (Petrocelli)." No one should suffer so much that they feel the need to take their own life. Suicide can be avoided if a law was made to end bullying. “There is a growing tendency among adolescent girls, for example, to cut themselves when peer pressure becomes overbearing (Vujicic).” Girls think that self-harm will eliminate everything wrong in their life, just like boys who think suicide is the best option. It makes you wonder what they went through while they slit their wrists. “…and sometimes it is the relentless teasing of a bully that convinces a teenager to take his own life (Vujicic).” No parent should have to endure the pain of burying their child. It's devastating to see children think that cutting their lives short is better than living a long, fulfilling life.
