Society's views towards the creation of humanity have rapidly changed since the discovery of evolution. However, there was a time before the world did not know the theory of evolution and the theories demonstrated by Sir Charles Darwin. Before evolution, there were people who were subject to religious ideologies about how humanity was created, they believed that the upper class were known as “divine creatures”. However, the introduction of evolution leads the theory to become the basis of biology and changes the minds of people around the world. First, before the theory of evolution, there was the idea that humans were created by God. For example, in Greek mythology it was believed that man was created by Prometheus (The Creation of Man of Prometheus, 2014). In Christianity it was believed that God created man, in the Bible it is stated: “God created man in his image, he created him in the image of God; male and female." (New International Version Genesis 1:27.) Society would rely on religious opinions for the answer as to how the human race was created. Before the book “On the Origin of Species” was published, society also relied on religion and not science to answer their questions, as there was little development in the field of science. Questions such as why we share so many genetic traits with apes or why bonobos are bipedal like us were all questioned by society before evolution (Comparison of the human and chimpanzee genomes looking for needles in a haystack Varki and Altheide , 2014). However, evolution has led us to understand how we evolved from one species to another over time. We now understand how our genetic traits match those of other species and how other species walk upright like us... middle of paper... towards each other. At first, society did not accept evolution, but that did not stop Charles Darwin from claiming that it is a fact. In conclusion, society's view has changed since the introduction of evolution because in the beginning society relied on religion to answer their questions. but after the introduction of evolution they now understand that religion cannot answer every question. Past society thought that white Europeans were a divine creature, which turned out to be false since we all evolved from one ancestor. There was a huge debate when Charles Darwin published On the Origin of Species and society initially did not accept his ideologies. However as time went on it became more believable. Charles Darwin shows society that no matter what you do or say, people will always judge, so it is up to us to have the passion to continue doing what we do.
