People also argue that a gay athlete makes everyone uncomfortable, potentially even their own teammates. When in reality the players see their teammates as brothers or sisters and having an openly homosexual player on the team doesn't make them feel uncomfortable at all. For example, Jason Collins' teammates on the Brooklyn Nets say that “his sexuality is not a big deal to us. Understandably, the media and fans will focus on this” (The Onion).
