Goals and Objectives in Business One of the most important components of your business plan will be the section entitled "Goals and Objectives". Simply put, this section will be used to assist in business planning and direction. This section can be revisited at any time during the course of your business to ensure that the business has achieved the goals and objectives outlined and is on the “right track”. If your plans appear to have strayed from the original plan, you can then determine why the company's plans have changed and how to get back on "track." Goals (objectives): These are goals you have set for yourself and your business. Goals allow you to measure and evaluate your company's success as you move forward with managing your company. Without them, how can you know if you're accomplishing what you initially set out to do? This section could possibly act as an incentive as a reward if after reviewing the Goals section you have determined that you have achieved what you set out to do. A reward could be as simple as telling yourself, "Good job!", or perhaps deciding to buy a new computer for your office. Rewarding achievements is a necessity to keep your business perspective. Setting goals shows readers of your business plan how you plan to accomplish many of the elements outlined in your plan. It gives them an idea of how you imagine this company operates successfully. That's not to say that your goals can't change, so you write them down based on how you see things unfolding in the future from today's perspective. There are three main types of business objectives. They are:1. Short-Term: Things that… In the middle of the paper… Next to each of your new goals estimate how long it will take to complete the task. For some goals it is quite simple to establish a time allotment, while others will take several minutes or even days to develop a reasonable time frame. Use the sheets provided to begin the Goals and Objectives section. Now you're on the right track. Sales and Marketing Goals ========================= Now it's time to think about the other elements that will dominate your time beyond setting up your business , or sales and marketing. Sales and marketing are the most important elements to think about when developing a business, and if not managed correctly, your business will most likely fail. Your goal in developing your business plan is to balance your activities and marketing graphs and cash flow sheets to reflect your goals and objectives.
