Have you ever wondered why children and adolescents seem to be more aggressive and violent? Violence has increased due to violent video games. The games that kids play nowadays are rated higher than what their age groups are supposed to play. “In this study, children who frequently played video games with older siblings were twice as likely as other children to play adult games (considered appropriate for ages 17 and up)” (Violent). Children behave violently because of the games they play. Children who play violent video games are more likely to cause violence to others. “Video games make children more aggressive towards others. Exposure of children and adolescents (or “youth”) to violent visual media increases the likelihood that they will engage in physical aggression against another person” (Anderson). Children who play violent video games have a short temper and get angry easily. Children will most likely want to start fights at school. Children are likely to be rude to their teachers, to other classmates, and even to their parents. The kids probably learned to fight from video games. Kids will want to try fighting with moves they learn from video games. This is one way children show aggression towards others. “Some children may become more aggressive as a result of watching and playing violent video games” (Violent). From video games, children want to try new things that they learn from them. Kids will think it's cool to act like the things they see in video games. Children will also be irritated by the video games they play and will act aggressively towards others. Children will also try to play aggressively with their friends. They call their friends names for not being able to take t...... middle of paper ...... children are old enough to play other video games suitable for mature people. If children stopped playing violent video games, there would be fewer fights in schools and other places. If kids continue to play violent video games, they will fight a lot in the future and maybe go to prison.
