PROBLEM STATEMENT In Malaysia, sexual activities among unmarried adolescents are increasing. As an officially Islamic country that practices Eastern values, this is definitely a major concern. Just before dawn on New Year's Eve 2010, Spak, K. (2014) reported that the Malaysian Morality Police arrested 52 unmarried Muslim couples, most of whom were still students. What's worse, premarital pregnancies among teenagers are also at an impressive rate. In 2013, from January to March, Shah, A. (2014) stated that Malaysia recorded a number of 1,048 premarital teenage pregnancies. Doing simpler math, that means there were an average of 12 teen pregnancies per day. Western cultural imperialism, further empowered by uncensored materials in the media and the Internet, plays a significant role in the increase of these numbers in Malaysia's oriental culture. Shah, A. (2014) also quoted Dr. Nik Rubiah who implied that communication among family members about sex education is key to curbing the problem.
