Feed by MT Anderson is an ADULT science fiction novel about a future world where a new technology, called Feed, is implanted in your brain. Feed was a boring and uninteresting book that should not be added to the already rigorous English curriculum for ninth graders. The curriculum consists of other novels such as Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I write to parents, teachers, and school administrators because they have the ability to make the right choices for our students. I believe that the Feed book should not be adopted into the freshman English curriculum because it sets a bad example for students, teaches children very little, and is not practical for ninth graders. One of my main arguments against Feed is that it sets a bad example for students. Many sixth graders have recently been exposed to many bad influences such as marijuana, alcohol, and other illegal substances that can be easily acquired.
