“Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended. Of these, approximately four in ten are terminated through abortion” (guttmacher). Abortion should not be the first option and a quick decision when an unwanted pregnancy occurs. Abortion should barely be used unless dire circumstances are involved. There are many people who wish more than anything to be able to adopt a child and have him as their own. Adoption should be chosen in situations where the parent cannot care for the child and when the child is unwanted. More people should consider adoption as their first choice instead of abortion because it is the best way to give your child a chance at life. Adoption is a great option for unwanted pregnancies and for people who are unable to give a child a dignified life. Adoption can give a child an amazing life when they would otherwise have had a difficult life. There are so many children pulled out of bad situations every day, such as children who are adopted from foster care and orphanages. Children go to willing parents who want to give them the world. Because children who aren't adopted for various reasons can live a difficult life in and out of group homes and foster homes with people who only want them because of the allowance that comes with them. Children adopted from birth by parents who decide they cannot give their children a dignified life like another family could are astonishing. This almost guarantees that the child will have a good life and will be cared for with love. Some birth parents such as teenagers, homeless, college students, etc. who have not understood life and are struggling to take care of themselves or are still in the care of someone else are perfect for hesitation... in the middle of paper ......to be adopted to have children who suffer from of the bad choices made by their parents. Adoption is an amazing and selfless decision to make so that a child can have a better life and perhaps change the lives of others. Works Cited "Who we are". Statistics.
