For many years humans and animals have relied on a gift of nature that is not only a miracle medicine, but also a sturdy building material and has many other uses. In the days we live in, this gift has been banned and given a bad name for selfish reasons that were not talked about until recently. Legalizing marijuana would make it too easily accessible to young people, such as children and college students. People would start buying the drug just because it is available and no longer illegal. It could become a habit and cause people to lose sight of what is truly important in life, like family and all the things involved, like buying groceries and paying bills. Marijuana is said to have many side effects, some negative and some positive. Shown here are some facts about marijuana. Hemp, as it is often called, has abrasive outer fibers and a shorter, finer fiber on the inside that is often called hurd. The seeds of the hemp plant can also be pressed into oil. These three main components of the hemp plant can be transformed into a variation of products that look and behave like materials similar to wood, plastic and even concrete. These hemp-made products include, but are not limited to, plastic, fiberboard, wallboard, shingles, insulation, panels and bricks which can also be made from compressed inner short hemp fiber. The outer hemp fibers can then also be used as a hay bale combined with mud for an old-fashioned cob construction. Homes built with hemp are better for our environment, but can be more expensive in states where marijuana sales are illegal.
