My interactions with students, parents and colleagues have allowed me to actively share my vision of effective teaching and learning that impacts students: the way they come seen by teachers and treated by teachers teachers as students and individuals of the community. Collaborative avenues have developed my skills on how to create an ongoing support system for myself and my students. Additionally, my actions show the respect I have for my students and colleagues. Ultimately, all the strategies, theories, and perspectives learned through the Walden program have structured my foundation in education to become assertive in my actions for what is right, just, and true in teaching and learning. I have a stronger understanding that to positively influence the community, you need to be sensitive to issues, be open to discussion, accept diversity and shape the situation.
