Bandhobi (반두비) (2009), is a crude political satire film on issues of racism, illegal immigration, and multiethnicization that is a well-crafted Korean popular cultural production. In this film, director Shin Dong-il presents the transnational heteronization of South Korea through Karim and Min-seo who resolve and experience difficulties and obstacles throughout the story. This film is a story about multiculturalism presented in Korean culture that shows the pains of growing up and the point of view in different cultures. The film's title refers first and foremost to the concept of South Korea as a racial and multicultural state, Tamunhwa, and to cultural politics as compensatory and instrumentalist. The title "Bandohbi" roughly means "friend" in Bengali.
