Some teenagers say they are in love even if they are in seventh grade. They most likely just met and automatically assume that they are in love with each other. They claim that holding hands, cuddling and kissing explain that their so-called "love" is real. They claim that going to the movies with their parents is real (even if they don't sit together). But in reality it isn't. Ultimately the teenagers don't speak to each other and rumors circulate about their breakup. Eventually someone will get hurt. "Almost all of these first relationships are, not surprisingly, short-lived..." (Source F). Young love is more than dangerous due to the final depressive phase, family problems and the violence it can lead to. Depression… a condition of general emotional sadness and repression is very dangerous. Young love can lead many teenagers into this dark phase of their lives. It can cause self-harm or even suicidal thoughts. The painting “Marriage a la Mode” painted by William Hogarth depicts a theme of depression. One of the details in the painting are two dogs chained together. (Source C). These two dogs seem very upset about being chained together because they always have to be together... mostly because they have no choice. This symbolizes two people who are forced to love each other. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is forced to marry Paris. She didn't want to marry him because 1) she didn't like him and 2) she was already married to Romeo. In the end Romeo and Juliet both die. Romeo kills himself after hearing the news that his beloved Juliet had died. “To my love! O true pharmacist! Your drugs are fast. So with a kiss I die." (Source A). As soon as Romeo fell, Juliet... center of the card... at a young age. This can affect children socially, because if they inherit a disease such as a type of STD they will most likely no longer be as social because rumors will circulate about that young individual's disease. Young love is extremely dangerous. “Children don't really feel like they're putting in the effort to preserve a relationship… adolescence is a time of experimentation.” Connolly said. Teenagers don't really understand the meaning of love. They don't understand the dangers it can lead to. They may die due to depression problems, or their families will no longer accept them for who they are, or they may take great risks that would lead to social problems. Teens shouldn't automatically assume they're in love. They should wait until an age when they truly understand the meaning of love, a deeply tender and passionate affection for another person.
