Tourism is recognized as one of the largest and fastest growing sectors, regarded for its highly contributing role in the global and national economy. In addition to the economic importance of tourism, it also has an impact and contribution on society, culture and the natural environment. This contribution of tourism to the economic, socio-cultural and natural environment can be seen in two ways, both positive and negative. In order to achieve or maximize the positive contribution of tourism and at the same time minimize its negative impact or otherwise maximize the benefits of tourism while minimizing its costs to the economy, society, its culture and the natural environment is a big challenge to be faced by the global tourism industry. while tourism's contribution to cultural reinvigoration, its conservation, protection, revitalization and creation of a feeling of pride among locals for its culture, etc., can be seen as an important socio-cultural benefit. In addition to this valuable contribution, an important issue is its role towards the host community and its natives, especially for the less privileged classes. It was found that a large number of people benefit from casual work in informal sectors such as cook, porter, guide, launderer, street sweeper, photographer. It employs almost 8% of the global workforce generated directly/indirectly from tourism activity. The export value of tourism represents the fourth highest value, sharing more than 8% of the global export value of all international trade after automotive fuels and chemicals which generate a trillion a year. Value for Destinations: It has been revealed that in over 150 nations, which is 83% of the total nations, tourism is the main source of export for them. While in more than 60 nations, tourism has ranked n. -1 export earner. In the case of developing countries, tourism is considered the main source of foreign exchange for almost 38% of the total developing countries worldwide. While around 50% of underdeveloped countries of the world depend on tourism, as it remains in the main source of foreign exchange. It has also been found that tourism generates 1.2 to 3.4 times more income for every dollar spent by tourists towards the destination.Source: UNESCO and UNEP,2008
