Performing research that creates new understanding, new technologies, and potential for action, my purpose in pursuing graduate school at this stage of my life is to further my professional presence and career . I firmly believe in the potential of graduate studies and research to ameliorate societal challenges to accelerate growth towards new, life-changing solutions and drive progress in technology, economics and other sectors. A significant part of our improvement in health, wealth and overall well-being, whether environmental, cultural, social or spiritual, has been made possible by research conducted by universities and through the actions of people who benefited from their university education. While some significant broad-based research is currently underway in my country, research in the sensitive field of aerospace and astronautics has been completely overshadowed. While university work can be taken forward at any time, I envision it as the first stepping stone and point of contact for addressing societal problems at local, national and international levels and therefore no further time can be wasted. Having been exposed to research since my graduation from the Energy Center, a research institute for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, I clearly understand the relationship between research and development and its underlying impact. Currently, a Solar Export Potential (SEPS) research project for Ghana has opened my eyes to latency. This research gave me the opportunity to further explore my skills in using geographic information systems (GIS) to implement project-critical solutions. I believe in the traditional challenge and with......middle of paper......trying. I want to be a driving force in driving production in the aviation sector in my country, which is currently at a negative level. Even though some of my ideas may seem absurd, I believe that anything is possible. I took part in the Urban Lifeline Mapping project in a slum in Ghana. This was crazy and completely impossible from the point of view of many skeptics, but it was achieved and marked as the first urban mapping of a slum in the world using GIS. Currently, my country lacks research-oriented structures and resources in the aeronautical field and this is the gap that this degree course can fill. Being a top-notch undergraduate institution, I believe everything is on track for me to pursue this graduate study and improve the conditions in my country. I will also achieve this through the networking opportunities that await me in this noisy university institution.
