School bullying is a problem that has existed since the beginning; however, it has been underappreciated in many school systems. Some schools try to present themselves as “Bully Free” institutions to ignore this problem. As a result, students feel reluctant to report bullying activities at school which makes victims of bullying more vulnerable. The reality is that bullying cannot be solved by ignoring it. School bullying can be harmful to children's development if it is not addressed promptly. Preventing bullying is the school's responsibility. It must be evaluated in the school system to protect students. There have been numerous occasions where students are subjected to bullying in the classroom. “School programs and policies can be effective if all adults in the school, faculty and staff, take a stand against bullying” (Austin et al. 284).
