In general, human nature is composed of three main parts: the mind (intellect), the body (biological structure) and the spirit (emotional structure). While the mind and body are explored extensively in behaviorism and psychoanalysis, a person's spirit has become increasingly popular since the mid-20th century. In the early 1960s, a movement called third force psychology arose as a reaction to the failure of behaviorism and psychoanalysis to fully address the human condition (Hergenhahn, 2008). This third force movement is humanistic psychology, which refers to the combination of the philosophy of romanticism and existentialism. Humanistic psychology, on the other hand, paid more attention to the potential of each individual and underlined the importance of self-realization. Furthermore, humanists believe that the uniqueness of man and his positive position should be more focused in future studies. According to Hergenhahn (2008), the other two forces in psychology have overlooked a number of important human attributions. The main reason was that behaviorism focused exclusively on human behavior rather than anything unique about it, and that psychoanalysis mainly focused on disorders of human beings and the treatment of these disorders. However, it was also necessary to underline something positive and the spirit of man, which is why humanistic psychology was developed. It doesn't surprise me that humanistic psychology becomes a new field of psychology because a human being is different from other animals or objects. Humans have their own minds and the abilities to create many things that did not exist before, such as electricity and computers. I think this is the uniqueness of humanity and should become a topic to be studied deeply. Humanistic... at the heart of the card... implementation in life is self-realization. Human beings are different from other objects, such as animals, because they pursue spiritual life and realize their potential. Furthermore, freedom and unconditional positive regard are also highlighted in humanistic psychology. From my point of view, people need to focus more on the mind than on other things, because this is the uniqueness of human being and we need to make good use of it. Spiritual life also needs to be highlighted in our lives. Nowadays, more and more people tend to spend more money and energy on material life than on spiritual life. Although they are rich in the natural world, they are poor in the internal world. Therefore, I think humanism should be emphasized in the 21st century. Works Cited Hergenhahn, B. R. (2008).
